STEM careers don't always have a central focus on science, technology, engineering, and math skills. In this session, participants will hear about the wide variety of careers in STEM that reach beyond engineering, physics, and other “hard sciences”. At NASA, people with many different skills are needed in order to solve some of the most difficult STEM challenges. Preparation for these careers can start early, with opportunities that start in high school. Find resources now to get inspired to find your place in STEM.

Transformational Leadership as a Tool to Retain More Females in STEM Fields
In this session, teachers and STEM collaborators will learn how to leverage transformational leadership principles to encourage more girls into STEM fields and support them in STEM careers. Transformational leadership entails responding to individual needs while empowering and aligning the students' objectives and goals to help them thrive. Explore how to increase influence, build trust and help students achieve success. Learn practical ways to apply the four I's of transformational leadership: influence, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation, and individual consideration.

Creating Equity and Opportunity through In-Demand Skill Development
Problem-solving, critical thinking, creativity, and communication are among the most desired skills in the workforce. Eighty-five percent of all industries seek out at least one of these skills. Engage with industry professionals, educators, and STEM students as they discuss why these skills are needed in the workforce, how in-demand skills are developed in K-12, and how educators and industry can work together to bring opportunities to advance equity to America's students.
